Owned by the Bureau of Reclamation and leased by the Kern County 公园 Division, 湖Woollomes is an equalizing reservoir for the Friant-Kern Canal, which is used for irrigation of the surrounding fields. The waters attract as many ducks, geese and other waterfowl as people. The surrounding area includes almond groves and grape vineyards.

The entire 湖Woollomes Park occupies 455 acres, the lake with its four mile shoreline covering 300 of those acres.

Location/Directions/Hours

General Location: Approximately 3 miles southeast of Delano, CA(人口31),450), and approximately 30 miles north of Bakersfield. 湖Woollomes is easy to reach from either the north or southbound lanes of Route 99. Just south of Delano, signs from the Pond Road - 湖Woollomes Exit lead to the lake.

The motor permit fees are charged only on the following days: Saturdays, 星期天, and Holidays between March 1 and September 15.

• $60.00 per boat per year, good from November 1 of the year sold through the end of the next calendar year.

• All pets must stay on a leash for the sake of other park visitors.
• No alcohol is allowed at 湖Woollomes.
• All fires must be lit only in the designated barbecue grills. 访问ors must bring their own fuel because no cutting or use of park vegetation is permitted.
• The discharge of all firearms or weapons, including bows and arrows, 矛, BB枪, pellet guns and sling shots, 是被禁止的.
• Depositing trash in waste receptacles and cleaning off tables properly will preserve public health and keep the park pristine.

General Regulations/Restrictions

• A maximum of 400 vehicles is allowed in the park from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays, 星期天, and holidays between March 1 and September 15.
• No camping allowed - no camping facilities.

• All boats must have an authorized capacity stated on a capacity tag.
• Sailboats 8 feet or longer need a CA registration number.
• All boats must enter and leave the lake at the boat launching ramp.
